After completing his Master’s Degree, Idris opted to pursue a course in International Business Development and Networking instead of continuing his PhD—a decision that quickly paid off. In a few short years, he established himself as an International Trade Specialist.

Idris is the CEO of Afriexporter group, a pioneering E-Business with a diverse portfolio in export promotions across regional and international markets. As the President and CEO of Heeds and Field Resources Ltd (HFR), he leads a company specializing in goods exports, agricultural exports, and export capacity building with global operations. He also serves as the Regional Executive Director of Afriexporter Academy,  a Pan-African e-learning initiative in partnership with the Ireland-based eBSI Export Academy, dedicated to empowering African markets and entrepreneurs. Additionally, he founded the Afriexporter International Expo, a comprehensive trade promotion and business development, conference and exhibition.

Idris sits on the board of several companies, including Market Groce Ltd, Ekiwood Nigeria Ltd, and 02 Entertainment. He also pioneered the Miss Ekimogun Beauty Pageant since 2009 to promote the culture of Ondo Kingdom and Ondo State.

He contested as a young politician in 2019 for the member of house of assembly in Ondo State. He is also an ordained chief saibi Itagbuyi of Ondo Kingdom, Ondo State by pronouncement from His imperial majesty OBA Dr Victor Kiladejo, the Osemawe and Paramount ruler of Ondo kingdom.

A technical partner to Zenith Bank Plc, Idris has been a featured resource person at numerous prestigious events, including the Nigerian-American Chamber of Commerce African Food and Products Exhibition and Conference, Zenith Bank’s Zero to Hero Export Seminar, Nigeria International Diaspora Organisation (NIDO) Russia, Global Trade Review (GTR) in the United Kingdom, Africa AgriExpo, AGX Africa, and the Africa Agri Council in South Africa. He has also participated in the Nigerian-Canadian Business Forum and other significant seminars, conferences, and expos.

Idris is a faculty member of the MyfarmBase Agricultural Development Program and TEKEDIA Academy, headquartered in the United States of America. He is also the initiator of the newly trademarked and copyrighted TV reality show, EXPORT ICON, West Africa. In his leisure time, he enjoys table tennis, karaoke, and socializing.
